MAI is an urban backpack. 100% handmade in Italy.
MAI is designed with a functional approach and a contemporary linear design.
The classical image of the backpack is deconstructed into synthetic and abstract basic shapes.
Almost like an article of clothing, MAI clings to the body shape,
is secure and remains easly accessible only by the owner.
MAI comes in two styles, differing in shape and materials, but with the same design idea.
The choice of quality materials, hard-wearing and monochrome, makes the backpack a fancy object.
BSH (Big Sky Hunt) is a photographic project that comes in parallel witht MAI backpack.
BSH tells of places where the regular flow of time is interrupted, alludes to the feelings that come together when the cutthroat journey toward self-searching stops for an instant in a mental place where there is no pain, no sadness, no joy.
The urban backpack bares itself in the complexity of a structured society, it bonds to the body and to the individuality.
BHS inquires the traces of places from a past life.
The parallel tracks of these paths lead to the core.
Existence and absence, reality and imagination, concreteness and insubstancial, everything and nothing, it’s never, it’s MAI.
